Certificated Substitute Information

  1. 30 Day Emergency Substitute Permit issued by the California Teaching Commission which requires:  
    1. Hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally-accredited college or university; and
    2. Pass a Basic Skills Test
    3. Other requirements as specified by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  2. Online application through EDJOIN.

Classified Substitute Information

  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Other requirements specific to substitute positions are listed in each job posting.

Before you can volunteer or chaperone a field trip, you must clear a criminal background check.  Please make an appointment for Live Scan services by calling 916-566-1600 ext. 32105.

Typing tests are offered at Twin Rivers Adult School (5703 Skvarla Ave., McClellan, CA  95652).  Tests are by appointment only.  Please contact Lana Vahchuama, (916) 566-2785 x25135 or to schedule an appointment.  Cost is $10 (fee is waived for Twin Rivers employees).
