Twin Rivers USD currently provides high quality before and after school programs to more than 2,800 students in 38 schools daily. Additionally, TRUSD partners with various community organizations to provide a robust catalog of summer camp opportunities and intersession camps.

 

Our programs provide an opportunity to merge school reform strategies with community resources. The goal is to support local efforts to improve assistance to students and broaden the base of support for education in a safe, constructive environment. The Expanded Learning Programs serve eligible students in kindergarten and grades one through nine, inclusive, at participating public and charter schools. (EC § 8482.3(a).)

Our Expanded Learning programs involve collaboration among parents, youth, representatives from schools and governmental agencies, such as local law enforcement and local parks and recreation departments, and individuals from community-based organizations and the private sector. Programs are created through partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide literacy, academic enrichment, and safe, constructive alternatives for students in grades K-8.


Boys & Girls Club of Greater Sacramento
For more than 100 years Boys & Girls Clubs have been serving children across America. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento proudly brings the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) tradition to the Sacramento area, contributing to the growth and positive development of the children at Fairbanks, Hillsdale Elementary and Smythe Middle School. 

Center for Fathers and Families
Founded in 1994, the Center for Fathers and Families' mission is to strengthen families and build communities in the Greater Sacramento region by offering a network of programs & services that lead to family growth, enrichment, and empowerment.  MASTERS (Making After School Time Enriching, Rewarding, and Successful) currently serves students at Allison, Castori, Madison, Oakdale and Smythe K-6.

Roberts Family Development Center
The RFDC program is based on the "Better Than Average" after school program, which encompasses academic assistance, enrichment and recreation. The after school program's mission is to provide a safe, interactive learning environment for participating students at MLK Jr. Technology Academy and Rio Tierra Junior High.

Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center
The Center was founded in 1978 to aid those newly arrived Chinese immigrants in dealing with cultural adaptation. As part of their goal to improve academic achievement, increase enrichment opportunities and family literacy the agency operates 16 after-school programs in Twin Rivers including Babcock, Del Paso, Dry Creek, Foothill Oaks, Foothill Ranch, Frontier, Garden Valley, Hagginwood, Las Palmas Northwood, Norwood Jr. High, Orchard, Rio Linda Preparatory, Sierra View, Strauch and Woodridge.

 

TCF has been in the after-school program services field for eleven (11) years.  TCF services include services within the area of academic enhancement, skill development, enrichment, service learning and community involvement.  Since 2007, TCF has expanded its services from a group of seven (7) youth a week to over 1800 a week.  The program currently supports 4 after-school programs in Twin Rivers including FC Joyce, Village, Pioneer, Westside and Woodlake.

 

YMCA of Superior California
At the YMCA there's time every day for homework and fun. Activities in art, science, literacy and group discussions related to the theme are part of the daily routine. In addition, children have time scheduled for homework, snack and physical activity. The program is available at Kohler Elementary.
