Purpose of the Empowerment Series for Native American Families
The purpose of this Empowerment Series is to provide an opportunity for Twin Rivers Native families and community members to interact and network on the educational needs of American Indian families. These meetings will be centered on the experiences and knowledge of all participants, and discuss the educational and culturally related needs of our American Indian students
What is the purpose of the Parent Advisory Committee ?
Our goal is to develop a Parent Advisory Committee of American Indian/Alaska Native parents, families, students, teachers and community members. The Advisory Committee would be essential in supporting the development of an American Indian Education Program within the Twin Rivers Unified School District. This program will be designed to support academic success and cultural enrichment that honors native culture and values.
In addition, the Twin Rivers Needs Assessment for Native American Student Support & Resource Program will assist us in identifying families interested in the development of a program to support the educational and culturally related needs of our American Indian students.
