Family and Community Engagement (FACE) will be hosting virtual family workshops and trainings to support its Twin Rivers community on the learning tools and programs to promote online learning for students, resources from the District and Departments, and additional information as requested.

Student Services: A Fall Welcome for Families on its Services & Staff    

Learn more about how Student Services supports its families & students with programs and services from:
 
  • Child Welfare & Attendance (CWA)- Attendance, Homeless Education, and other resources
  • Foster Youth Services- Independent Living Program (ILP) & Resources for Foster Youth Families
  • Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE): Youth-Centered Programs & Strategies to Prevent Tobacco, and Controlled Substances Use

The mission for the Student Services Department is to coordinate programs that benefit our students & families, and this workshop will provide an opportunity to increase awareness of its services.

What you need to know about English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) 

Come learn how to support your students with tools they will need to get reclassified as English proficient. Parents will have an opportunity to review a sample of the questions that will be asked on the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC). In addition, the English Learner Services Department will provide updates for the 2020-2021 school year to support students and families.

Special Education Resources for Students in Bridge (Mod-Sev Autism SDC) & RISE (Mod-Sev SDC)

Distance learning resources will be provided, along with tips for a distance learning environment at home, visual supports, and additional resources to support students in our Bridge (Mod-Sev Autism SDC) and RISE (Mod-Sev SDC) programs.

Swun Math

Swun Math Family Night
Come join us for SWUN Math Family Night! During our time together with the SWUN Math consultant, you will tour the SWUN Math website and receive helpful tips and tools to support your K-8 child with Common Core Mathematics. In this session, we will also discuss student learning in a virtual setting and provide you with strategies to support your child in their learning of math.

TRUSD Apps Portal: The Gateway for Distance Learning and Online Resources
We will discuss how to access the TRUSD Apps Portal and its functions, Google Classrooms, and the educational learning programs to support distance learning. Participants will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link once registered, and a reminder message the day before the workshop.
