Principal's Message

We begin the 2009 -10 school year with a great sense of pride. We have made tremendous gains in our California Standardized tests (CSTs). These tests were given to students in May 2009. The results show that 39.1% of our students have performed as proficient or above in English Language Arts, and 39.9% have performed proficient or above in math. We have made 41 points gain in our API (Academic Performance Index) compared to the last year. Our API has gone up from 645 to 686. Our whole school community deserves recognition on this achievement. Congratulations to all.

Our teachers and staff work hard to make Rio Linda Junior High a caring and safe learning community. We strive to provide excellent learning opportunities that help our students grow academically, socially and emotionally.

In our students’ two years at junior high we want to build sound academic foundation for them and prepare them for challenging courses at high school. To meet this goal we are very diligent in placing students in appropriate courses. Students needing extra help in language arts and math are placed in these subject courses for more than one period. We also make strong efforts to articulate with our feeder elementary school to make the transition smooth for our students.

We have a motivated team of teachers at Rio Linda Junior High. They are constantly working hard and collaborating with each other to provide best instruction to their students. Our school is proud to have a learning community of professional who are always conscientious to meet the needs of all students.

Your partnership is important in making Rio Linda Junior High a wonderful center of learning. Please know that you are always welcome at school.
