Principal's Message
We are preparing for a wonderful 2009–2010 school year at Foothill Farms Junior High School and look forward to a year of growth, learning, and fun! School begins at 8:45 am, but each Wednesday is a late start day (10:45 a.m.) so that the instructional staff can meet and discuss how to improve the level of instruction that we deliver each week.
Junior high school can be both an exciting and confusing time for some students. No longer will they be with one teacher for the entire day. Now there are six teachers, passing periods, after school activities, and no recess.
In order to help our students better adjust to the junior high environment, Foothill Farms will be implementing an academy system for the 2009-2010 school year. Under the academy system, all four subject-area teachers work with the same group of students in order to provide a consistent and supportive learning environment. I am very excited about the academy system and how it will help our students to be successful!
