Drew Hibbs and Wayne Sheppard Join Coaches Circle

Twin Rivers teacher Drew Hibbs and former coach Wayne Sheppard were both recently inducted into the Sacramento State Men's Basketball Hall of Fame.

Mr. Hibbs has an impressive record as a high school head varsity coach, including two state basketball championships (1994 and 2003) at Foothill High School, as well as three section titles and 11 league championships during his coaching tenure (1986 - 2016).

Mr. Sheppard served as head junior varsity coach for Grant Union High School (1969 - 1970), head varsity coach for Highlands High School (1970 - 1976), head coach for Don Julio Jr. High School (1976 - 1978), and head varsity girls coach for Grant (1981 - 1983).

Mr. Hibbs and Mr. Sheppard now join 30 other coaches in the Coaches Circle, a wing of the Hall of Fame that honors basketball coaches who graduated from Sacramento State.

"To be invited back by the current Sacramento State basketball coach, Brian Katz, and to be honored as a Hall of Fame recipient was very special," Mr. Hibbs says.
