Welcome to the Curriculum and Instruction Department's Webpage!
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction (C and I) at Twin Rivers Unified School District is housed under the Educational Services Division. C and I provides leadership and guidance in all areas of teaching, learning, and assessments for all elementary and secondary school sites in the district, including Adult Education, Continuation and Independent High Schools, and Dependent Charter Schools. The C and I Department is divided into the following zones of expertise, with their respective coordinators:

- English Language Arts and English Language Development: Laura Lofgren
- Social Science and World Languages: Kristen Cruz Allen
- Alternative and Adult Education and ROP/CTE: Marla Miller

The mission of C and I is to promote high-quality instruction
and close the achievement gap in all core subject areas. This reflects the
overall goals of the Educational Services Division. C and I works hand-in-hand
with the Neighborhood Networks to make sure that maximum learning is happening
in all classrooms in the District and the needs of all children, from the
struggling to the gifted, are being met.
Currently, C and I is preparing to meet the challenge of the K-12 Common Core Standards (http://corestandards.org/)

February 7, 2012 - Teaching for Learning that Sticks! - Explore the science behind attention selection and memory retention and retrieval. New findings from science journals inform this workshop. Familiarize yourself with strategies to maximize attention selection, memory banking and more efficient memory retrieval in your classrooms.
