What is a Mentor?
Mentoring is a relationship over a period of time between two people; where an older, wiser, and more experienced adult provides consistent support, and guidance to a youth.
Mentors and their students communicate at least once a week to discuss goals, dreams, and the pressures of being a teenager.
Mentoring provides concrete help in academic and social areas as well as preparation for college and career opportunities.
Mentoring has been proven to improve a student's school attendance, grades, and relationships with parents, teachers, and peers.
Mentoring helps a student to learn how to positively resolve conflicts, and communicate better.
