In 2017 the Twin Rivers Unified School District Transportation Department was the first school district in the nation to deploy these zero-emission electric school buses. Funded in part by a $7.5 million California Climate Investment grant, using proceeds from CA's cap-and-trade program, these state-of-the-art, zero-emission buses will help to improve the air quality in areas where our children study, live and play. To date we have 16 electric buses and 33 compressed natural gas buses in our fleet. Our future fleet will completely consist of alternative fuel vehicles.
