The Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition award given to students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. The Seal of Biliteracy Program supports TRUSD's mission and focus on student achievement targets.
"Bilingualism helps share idea around the world, so we'd be more connected as red-blooded, oxygen-breathing mortal humans that be divided because of the country one lives in, the religion we believe in, the color of our skin, or even the words we speak. All in all, language bonds people to people by sharing ideas, cultures and words. "
"Hablar dos idiomas supone la apertura de la mente a más de una cultura o forma de vida."
"Speaking two languages opens the mind to more than one culture or lifestyle."
If you do not meet the criteria through coursework; but have the skills to read, write, understand, and fluently speak in another language, you may take the CA State Seal of Biliteracy Exam. The exam is offered in more than 10 different languages.
