The EL Department provides a multitude of services to all TRUSD schools. Our main focus is to contribute to the success of our schools with our great diversity of students. We service 40% of the TRUSD student population.
Special Projects is responsible for monitoring State and Federal funding for the District, and the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) as well as coordinating the Expanding Learning Programs for after school, Corrective Reading, Tutoring, Summer School, and Alternative Intervention Program. Special Projects also monitors the Williams Compliance, oversees the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs.
The Special Education Department provides services to children with disabilities in the district, ages 3-22. Our department includes speech and language specialists, psychologists, special education teachers and paraeducators. The Special Education Department supports the mission of the district by:
